After having traveled around the world, Hans Silvester turns his lens as a photographer to an original Africa, the cradle of humanity where he has made many successive trips. From his encounter with the tribes of the Omo, an almost inviolate zone where men and women of today perpetuate ancestral ways of life, he brings back a gallery of portraits which are a pleasure to the eye as much as a encounter with the unknown. Battles, returns from hunting, children's games, parades, all these everyday scenes are so many moments that capture men in their many rituals. The painted bodies are the expression of a traditional and vulnerable society which also rubs shoulders with the violence of arms and these body paintings are all works of art. In this color reportage on the edge of civilization, Hans Silvester revealed the fascinating beauty of a vanishing world.
Born in 1938 in Germany on the borders of Switzerland, Hans Silvester took his first photos at the age of twelve. An unconditional defender of nature, he is the author of numerous works which have all been very successful.

Né en 1938 en Allemagne aux confins de la Suisse, Hans Silvester prend ses premières photos à l'âge de douze ans. Défenseur inconditionnel de la nature, il est l'auteur de nombreux ouvrages qui ont tous connu un grand succès.
