Exemplaire bien établi sous carton d'éditeur de ce passionnant récit de voyage, témoignage poignant entre la Chine (Tien Chan) et le Tibet.
L'auteur, Gabriel Bonvalot (1853-1933) fut le premier à traverser l'Asie du Nord au Sud-Est. C'est aussi l'un des premiers livres illustrés de photographies imprimées (frontispice et nombreuses reproductions photographiques incluses dans la pagination, la plupart à pleine page).

Percaline bleue, premier plat et dos ornés d'un joli décor de style Empire en noir et or, initiales de l'éditeur en noir au centre du second plat, tranche supérieure dorée.

Condition : Petits frottements aux couronnes et aux coins. Carton en très bon état. Intérieur propre, pas de rousseurs, jaunissement normal du papier.

Well-established copy in publisher's cardboard of this fascinating travelogue, poignant testimony between China (Tien Chan) and Tibet.
The author, Gabriel Bonvalot (1853-1933) was the first to cross Asia from North to South-East. It is also one of the first illustrated books of printed photographs (Frontispiece and numerous photographic reproductions included in the pagination, most full-page).

Blue percaline, front cover and back adorned with a pretty Empire style decoration in black and gold, publisher's initials in black in the center of the second cover, gilt top edge.

Condition: Tiny rubbing to crowns and corners. Cardboard in very good condition. Clean interior, no foxing, normal paper yellowing.
