Title-page, list of plates (slightly discoloured) 12 fascicles, each of 4 plates so 48 of 48 plates, each coloured plate showing several articles to be made in tooled Art Nouveau patern coloured leathers. Fine condition. Each plate complete with its flimsy overlay (7 Nr 4 more recent than all others ) giving an outline full-sized for tracing onto the leathers. Fashion accessories, music cases, wallets, belts, card holders, cigarette, cigar and match cases, bookbindings etc. Intended for practical use on the workbench or in the studio, the survivial of the plates with their flimsys intact is a rarity. Issued by L'Academie d'Arts Decoratifs in Paris, this, the original in French, was copied elsewhere later. Bookseller. Au$850

Folio, loose as issued in publisher’s cloth portfolio ; title, contents leaf and numerous colour illustrations on 48 of 48 plates (most with three or four illustrations); each plate with a printed transparent overlay. Library markings on title and inside cover but nowhere else inside. Some wear outside and signs of use but clearly never used as intended and, in all, the plates are in rather good shape. This is the American issue of a Parisian work, the title page reprinted but everything else unchanged. Au$850.
